Sent when ready from June. This year's papilio mix will comprise mainly of the lime butterfly (Papilio demoleus).The papilio mix represents an assortment of beautiful citrus feeding swallowtails that we have flying in our large polytunnel during the warmest summer months. We offer papilios as a mix, as the 'bird-dropping' type appearance of many citrus feeders makes it very difficult to tell them apart in their early, postable stages. It is very much a lucky dip and your pack can as easily be all of one species as it is a mixture! If needed, you can contact us before purchase to see what we have flying.
Larval foodplants: chiefly citrus; choysia and skimmia accepted according to species.
Breeding and rearing: greenhouse, conservatories, polytunnels or indoor cages with artificial heat and light.
