Actias selene is a huge and truly stunning green moth with a wonderful larval stage. 13-16 cms, with long tails it is a very popular species and remains a firm favourite with seasoned breeders. It is also absolutely ideal for novices and beginners, as the larvae are large, beautifully adorned and are very easy to rear on Hawthorn, Sloe, Walnut and various fruit trees. During the winter months they are best fed on Rhododendron. Pairing is highly likely in standard hanging cages, particularly in conditions of humidity.
