Sent when ready from September. The puss moth is an enduring favourite of seasoned breeders and a fascinating experience for the beginner. There are very few species in the world that can rival its spectacular and startling larvae and it is chiefly for this reason that it is so popular. The cocoon is a bewildering construction of chewed bark that creates an almost unbreakable residence for the overwintering pupae. On the wing from May to July this impressive species lays its eggs on willow, sallow and poplar. One of our most remarkable species and also one of the easiest to breed!
