Currently unavailable. The convolvulus hawk is a very large, powerful hawk that is a rare visitor to the UK. Memorably, a neighbour once bought me an enormous live female they had found imbibing moisture from sheets on their washing line! More typically, they can be found taking nectar from long tubular flowers such as tobacco. The adults wings are a streaked grey and the body is patterned with pink and black stripes. Larvae grow very quickly in warm conditions and in their final instar will consume large amounts of convolvulus, so be prepared!
Larval foodplants: wild and cultivated convolvulus (convolvulacae)
Rearing: plastic boxes; cylinder cages.
