Sent when ready in June or July. This year's mix will comprise mainly of the zebra butterfly (heliconious charitonius) This mix represents an assortment of passiflora feeding butterflies that we have flying in our large polytunnel during the warmest summer months. It is very much a lucky dip and your pack can as easily be all of one species as it is a mixture! If needed, you can contact us before purchase to see what we have flying. Likely species this year are: zebra longwing (heliconius charitonius); gulf fritillary (agraulis vanillae); dryas julia; the postman (heliconius melpomene) heliconius erato (shown above left to right). Orders to Europe are sent entirely at the customers' own risk and will be sent as eggs wherever possible.
Larval foodplants: passiflora species, chiefly, passiflora caerulea.
Breeding and rearing: greenhouse, conservatories, polytunnels or indoor cages with artificial heat and light.
