A large example of the Antheraea genus which is dificult to obtain but we now have a regular supply from India. Mylitta is particularly notable for its egg-shaped cocoon and very attractive larvae which we have found do well in net cages in a warm environment such as a conservatory. Regular spraying of the foodplant is very beneficial to the health of the larvae which like to drink. Although commonly reared on Oak, ours took to Apple readily and doubtless a variety of trees will be taken. A very interesting species that will suit the more experienced breeder.
