Sent when ready in July or August. In most cases livestock will be supplied as eggs or very young larvae. You should pin or staple the leaves containing livestock to the terminal shoots of growing, potted nettle.
Often found feeding on buddliea and other nectar rich flowers, the adult is found regularly in gardens and almost any other type of country. There are up to two generations per year and the larvae feed on nettle where they spin a single leaf into a tent like construction. A grand species that is easy to rear on potted nettle.
Larval foodplants: nettle (urticae).
Rearing: flowerpot cages, ventilated cages.
Photographs: adult nectaring.
